Condors are back
Flying high in the warm thermals, the California Condors have returned to the Tehachapi mountains.
The buck stops here
The temperature has been high and everything is dry. This family of deer appreciates a cool drink.
Obviously hummingbirds but not so obvious, in the lower right hand corner of this picture are two young bucks playing with their new antlers.
the most favorite watering hole around
Something about this old upside down insulator makes it the favorite watered in the yard. Birds and mammals alike head for this first. Go figure
swallowtail on the feeder
This is a first for me. A swallowtail on my hummingbird feeder.
Do you every wonder where your electricity comes from? The grid.
A beautiful flower but a horrible plant to be in our waterways. It's a water hog sucking up hundreds of gallons. At times we've had programs to eradicate it because we need to conserve our water for more important things, like drinking.
I love my greens.
Two new fawn
Their mother's name is "Split Ear" because she has a very distinct split in her ear. The baby in the back is calling her to the water.
This picture was taken with my trail camera. I uploaded it to document the fawns arrival to the yard.
I know this must be spelled wrong but that's the name I think of when I see this picture of a coyote.
