commented 3 months agoThese are hard to get a takeoff shot of, they push off the tree with wings folded, and they are so fast, its hard for the lens focus to keep up.

commented 3 months agoMichael, I have seen that look, and it means that some action is likely to happen faster than I can react...but then you are a whole lot faster, even with a big rig....:)

commented 5 months agoRichard, both you and I know Nikon is one of the best color camera captures. As Nikon owners, there is only one camera on the market that might just put us a step below the color performance. That might be the Sony SLR. It is a step ahead of the newer Nikon's for Color, but it has some seriuos problems, hot shoe flash meltdowns. My older D-class 70's & 80's had a better class of color reproduction of our newer calss Nikon's. But all in all, the Canon's will blow us away in fast capture's. It is a known fact that the sports side of photography is the Canaon. But the Nikon Glass blows away the Canon for sharpness.

commented 5 months agoI already checked out your Coopers images, back shots are awesome. Please do me a favor right now, do not show off your fire power images. If they belong to your family, keep it secret, PLEASE. Ex-Marine me, prosecuted to the full extent of the law, Colt Sporters purchased back in the early pre ban era of the early 80's New law came into effect in later years, registration for the assault weapons ban. I did not register, this ex-marine is now a felon. Soon to be announced (Califorina Law) (Sporter (AR-15 (SKS) (AK-47) Bullet Button Release, Keep these out of the picture my friend. Delete the image now. They know you now, they will come and take them away. If you need help, I will steal them from you.

commented 5 months agoThanks so much Mark, I saw that my junk shot of the Osprey made POD. Truthfully between you and I, this older capture should of been the POD. But I guess I can say oh well, I sometimes can't understand judges, I see a lot of awesome shots that should make the grade, yours, mine and quite a bit of others that surpass the POD grades. I guess the pro's have better eyes, or maybe they beleive to give everybody the chance. That makes me happy, because every one that gets out there, and makes the effort, needs to make the top of the list. Keep up the good work my Freind, your Photography is Super Exceptional.

commented 5 months agoMike , I agree about the color rendering of Nikon VS Canon I can look at an image and most of the time tell weather it was shot with Nikon or Canon. There is a visual difference Canon makes great cameras ,I use be a Canon film shooter. But There's a reason Canon color looks different,It's because Canon still has not caught up with Nikon !~Nikon has a RGB metering system in all their modern DSLR's
Canon still has no full-color RGB meters in any of its SLRs; most of Canon's cameras still only meter in black-and-white! even the latest FX Canon cameras don't have RGB metering.
I also think the Nikon co. makes better lenses, Makes sense when you concider they are primarily an optical MFG.
The color in Canon images looks washed out to me when you compare to the vivid brilliant color of Nikon images.
Maybe some people prefer that look, Some people also seem to like soft images . Lots of Portrait photographers shoot Canon .
So I guess the bottom line is it's a mater of preference~kinda like the old saying " Beauty is in the eye of the beholder "
I'll stick with Nikon
