commented 6 months agoI seen a story in the news about some collage kid that got a styrafoam cooler and cut a opening in the bottom to put a camera in that had a timer control,He attached heilum baloons and was able to get pictures from the edge of space of the world ~I forget exactly how hight it went, and how he retrived the camera~But it cost him less that 400.00 if I remenber right.

commented 6 months agoRichard, if you can park you motor home close enough, you could extend a rod with a Go Pro out over the water and shoot remotely!

commented 6 months agoRichard, more conservatively mount a GoPro camera on a radio controlled plane, or if winds were right and no lightning risk, use a sail on a tether aka kite.
My imagination is running loose again!

commented 6 months agoLOL...your last shot might be right before a lightning bolt finds you...
You know, with the right spot, a Bosun's chair could work...or a giant net suspended from a tree.... Just like Away All Boats!

commented 6 months agoWayne~as you knoe hind sight is 20/20 It would have been a fantictic shot had I been 20 feet higher up~But realisticly it would require a very elaberate and expencive rigging to acheive evevated veiws~I can envision a 30 foot hight mast with a camera attached,or a helium filled baloon then the problem would be aiming the camera exactly where you wanted it to be~I know a guy who photographs cars at car shows using a pole he gets some amazing veiws. I think I'll just keep my feet on the ground, and my camera in my hands ~LOL
