Breckenridge Pastorale - The Cattle
This is a revised version with more filtering in the foreground to tone down the orangy cast from late afternoon sun, which tends to overcome the greens and browns.
Captured shooting from the passenger side through the driver side window with 105mm f/2.5 Auto-Nikkor on Nikon D40. Martin Varga and I were coming back down Breckenridge Road awash with beautiful late afternoon golden rays.
Earlier in the afternoon the area looked desolate and arid, with nothing to shoot.
We joked that if we had taken a visitor here to show him Kern County, we would have a have hard time explaining why.
So, it was with considerable delight that we encountered this extraordinary lighting, replete with cows on the road, and other bucolic features of the Breckenridge landscape.
