commented 6 months agoHi Wayne, I enjoy photographing flowers, flowers are something I know and understand. Photography on the other hand is something I know very little about. My flower shots are ones I find attractive or interesting and complementary to the species. I am always interested to hear you comments and learn from them. Thank You Wayne Chrysanthemums bring back memories of childhood, many of our old family photos at Thanksgiving were taken among the chrysanthemums. Dad grew hundreds of them each year.

commented 6 months agoCharlie, the spiraling strategy works really well...the petals and other structures seem to leap upwards, and the gradual fall off to the background is so very smooth; it is accentuates the sharp outlines of the surfaces even more, along with the color contrast. Very nice gradation overall.

commented 6 months agoCharlie, I like the unusual composition...it really draws you into the flowers. This is a good example of successfully breaking the rule of thirds...love it! It actually uses a spiralling strategy to link flowers, ultimately with the little bit of yellow in the background!
