commented 6 months agoThanks Mark~Most of the time I try and crop flight image to leave space in front of the subject, It works well with people shots also to leave space in front of the way they are faceing. Just have to shoot a little wide .

commented 6 months agoWell composed image. Cropping is well balanced, with nice open (negative) space in the left part of the frame; provieds point of interest for the birds direction of gaze; nice use of the "rule of thirds" to place the bird to the right hand side of image. Well done. ;-)

commented 6 months agoThanks Jojo~They tend to fly away when aproached, I was lucky this one stayed put for quite a while, so I got some good poses from him.

commented 6 months agoI like how you framed this shot, Richard. Well balance and nice posture on the heron.

commented 6 months agoThanks Michael~This has become a new fav. spot for me~I'ts where the Hart park lake over flow stream returns to the river. I can sit in one spot ,and usually see White Egrets~Snowy Egerets, and blue herons on thes rocks looking for fish~Also a hang out for ducks~The trees along side of the stream usually have, Yellow-Rumped warblers,Ruby-crownd Kinglets, and sparrows in them,I got one good shot of a Bushtit yesterday was right above me in the tree I was sitting under~I'll keep looking for the NutHatches Hope I can find them again !!

commented 6 months agoLooking good, nice capture. No Nuthatches on this trip, keep trying, they are sneaky.
