Pastor Gets a Surprise at the End!
Sunday, November 4, 2012 was actually more than a great day at Canyon Hills, where over a hundred people were baptized, immersed in the pool installed in the sanctuary just for the occasion.
After all of the drama, cheers, applause, and rejoicing that went on, the last person emerged from the pool, and the baptism was soon to conclude.
Suddenly, the news came out that there was still another person...!
Pastor Wendell Vinson waited and waited...still no one came out...Finally, after intense expectation had thoroughly gripped everyone, exuberant cheers and applause exploded throughout the sanctuary.
Pastor Wendell had earlier shared how he had gone on an outing, where he met an atheist who said he would never set foot in a church.
Lo and behold, amid all of the pent up emotion and expectation, a man walked through the far entrance into the sanctuary and began to approach the pulpit and the baptismal pool.
Pastor became visibly beside himself as he saw who the man was.
That man, walking right toward Pastor, was just that man, the man who had said he would never set foot in a church!
In an incredible turn of events, here he was, and needless to say the rejoicing shook the house, and if I dare say, heaven and earth!
I have never seen anything like this happen....
